Chairman's Message
Welcome to Buena Vista Auxiliary's 13th annual A Toast to Tutoring. We are honored to have you join us for a wonderful evening of fine wines, exciting auctions and much camaraderie, all while supporting the auxiliary's philanthropic efforts. This event benefits our award-winning literacy program for local elementary school children, the Buena Vista Tutorial Program.
Since the tutorial program's inception 15 years ago, Buena Vista Auxiliary has funded reading and math-through-literacy tutoring for more than 2,500 children in the Mt. Diablo Unified and Walnut Creek School Districts. Through generous contributions from individuals, foundations and corporations, we have raised over $850,000 to fulfill our mission of providing literacy programs to children in-need in Contra Costa County. Proceeds from this year's A Toast to Tutoring will continue to fund the 10 elementary schools currently participating in the Buena Vista Tutorial Program as well three new schools from the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. Our goal is to fund as many tutoring sessions as possible!
A Toast to Tutoring is made possible by fabulous vintners from throughout the Bay Area who generously donate their time and delicious wines, and by sponsors such as B Allan Jewelers whose six years of continued support is appreciated beyond words. I extend a heartfelt thank you as well to our own A Toast to Tutoring committee for your enthusiasm, creativity, diligence and hard work. Great job!
